Cover Caption This Weeks Cover : Hundred's of people work in pets' clinics all over the country. Run by a host of animal welfare societies, for which Britain is famous, they all started with the founding of the R.S.P.C.A in 1824. Since then, the idea of the animal welfare state has been carried to all parts of the worldly British travellers. There are People's Dispensary for Sick Animals clinics in France, Tangier, Egypt and Japan, for example. Artist Fred Laurent shows the Canine Defence clinic at Brighton. As well as being sympathetic and an animal first aider, the girl receptionist will soon need to know how to stop a a battle royal between the cat and the dog.
